About Woodside Denture Centre
Woodside Denture Centre proudly opened in Airdrie in December 2003. We have since expanded, renovated and introduced many upgrades to the treatments we offer in order to serve you better! A fully equipped lab and an experienced lab technician allow your denture needs to be completed on site. We’re also a strong liaison with dentists in Airdrie and surrounding communities.
Denture treatments we offer include ‘flippers’, partial, complete and implant retained systems (which currently offer the closest possible fit and function to natural teeth). We also offer mouth guards (both for sporting and night use), snore guards and Zoom Whitening for your natural teeth.
Woodside Denture Centre is happy to offer instant financing to our customers through Health Smart. Our mission is to help make our services and products more affordable with payment plans.
In addition to offering a wide range of dentures, we provide services to keep your dentures at their best and ensure they are reliable for years to come. Below is a listing of some of the services we offer at Woodside.
Unfortunately, the longer you wear dentures, the more your gums change beneath and the looser they get. In order to restore the retentive qualities of the denture and prevent it from irritating your gums, you should have the denture professionally relined at least every two years.
Permanent Soft Denture Liners
These are resilient or “rubbery” surfaces placed in the denture (usually the lower) to provide a cushion. This cushioning is most often required by people with flattened lower ridges and is done either when new dentures are made or existing ones relined. After a new denture has been inserted, it should retain in the mouth nicely since the shape of the inside denture base now conforms closely to the shape of the gums.
Those who wear dentures on a daily basis occasionally experience a broken denture for various reasons including age of the denture, eating hard foods, an accidental fall onto the floor or sink, as well as damage caused by a pet. Denture repair can remedy most broken dentures to a like-new, useful condition where the broken dentures pieces are reconstructed professionally using denture acrylic material.
Dentures can help whether you are missing a few or all of your teeth. We can make your dentures look as natural as your current teeth or we can change it up if there are things you don’t like about your natural smile. It’s all up to you! Dentures may even improve your look, giving you a more confident smile and filling out the appearance of your face and profile.
There are several types of dentures available and their cost varies depending on the materials used and the necessary steps needed to make them.
Conventional or Standard Dentures
Conventional dentures are those placed once the bones and gums have healed after the removal of natural teeth (at least 1 year after extractions).
Immediate dentures, as the name implies, are placed as soon as the natural teeth are removed. With immediate dentures, the patient no longer needs to face the world without teeth.
Instead of traditional plastic prosthetic teeth, natural looking cosmetic dentures are made with modern five to seven layer composite teeth.
Removable Partial Dentures
A removable partial denture is usually made to replace one or more teeth and is customized to a patient’s specific requirements. Removable partial dentures restore a person’s natural appearance and greatly improve the ability to chew and speak clearly.
Implant-retained dentures are an increasingly popular option for replacing missing teeth rather than conventional bridges or partial dentures. Implants, used in conjunction with an overdenture, provides patients with a fixed denture solution. That’s right, no more Polident or other adhesives! Many patients with implant-retained dentures can eat food they once didn’t think to try and find a greatly increased quality of life.
